How would one categorize the incubi and succubi? Are they a part of the Goetia but given a different name? Or, are they simply Catholic creations to discourage sexual contact with demons? Or, are they something else?

Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 9:12 AMWell... as your powers for pleasure are infinite,
perhaps whoever and whatever they are are just
trying to make you feel more at home with your
sexuality. No necessary reason to think them
either demons or angels. Too dualistic for me.
I remember some story about the First Adam
having to interchange with what he took to be
such 'phantoms' in order to further new
creation, but whether those exist in order to
get you to accept yourself and the necessity
of viewing your urges as not evil, as long as
you don't overdo them, or whether they existed
long before you and me, is truly inconsequential.
Just enjoy it, but don't let it be your sole focus. -

Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 7:53 PMOh, I see... you're gay. Ask a gay man with a lot of imagination to
bring them your way. Also retaining your forces draws them like
bears to honey. If you already enjoy fruitful relations they may not
bother with you. Uhhhh, work that central pillar. The more energy
you draw down that you barely are able to contain, the more they
will want to relieve you of it, with a sizeable payoff in pleasure.
I just work the Kabbalah too much in my mind, and want to
distribute all those benefits to everyone freely, with no obligation
whatsoever; therefore, it seems to me at times they want to lick
me all over. -

Wed, May 7, 2008 - 8:36 AMIf you draw down energy, becoming a conduit for the infinite,
giving out love freely because you wish your heart to be pure,
yet don't have an outlet for that through your Yesod to give that
to another physically, others will want to take care of you.
I don't want to get too personal, what you do is your business,
but if the cup runneth over, it will attract those who want to make
use of the surplus.

Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Wed, May 7, 2008 - 8:43 AMTo 'categorize'... they are what you think and want them to be.
To insist they are demons just puts some ill-feeling onto that
arrangement. You don't want anyone feeling bad or demonized
for helping you out, do you? They really are just the many of us,
transiting from a higher dimension. Since they are fluidly able
to take any form, they take a form appropriate to your desires.
On desires: to eschew them only makes them more inflamed.
Sublimation is possible, but one should not feel at all guilty for the
fact that physically existing promotes desire. When God was
the sole singly existant being, he obviously had the need to be manifold
in the forms he would take. So be moderate, and in releasing and
making use of those natural desires in the moment, one is freed to
do other things. I've been playing heavily with the concept of the
Daath-Yesod circuit... -

Wed, May 7, 2008 - 8:19 PMWell.., I was wanting to know what Incubi and Succubi were categorized as more for a means to do more resarch on them. There isn't much information about. However, there are tons of people what want to play with them.

You are the guy with the body, you're 'holdin'...
If it turns you on to think them 'demons' or such... go right ahead.

Fri, June 6, 2008 - 5:35 PMNow, after thinking about this some, and without sharing too much of my visions
so as to scare you in any way or give you too much to try to understand at this point,
I must say that the best thing to do in this case is resist as best you can, or even
better than that, go find a real lover. As I said, I don't want to go into specifics, I may
have joined this tribe out of curiousity, and contributed to this thread in order to show
whomever that I felt that was happening to me, but now it really is not, and something
else is occuring. I really know very little about Goetia, I don't even know the definition
of the term, and I now say that in some cases the Roman Catholic church may be right,
but also that their ( Incubi & Succubi) existance may be necessary. But be all means stop
summoning them, do not use such forms of masterbation, I really mean it, find a lover instead!
I didn't summon them, and yet they came to me anyway. I have never used any form of ritual magic.
I have never drawn any such magical circles or pentagram or anything like that, I don't
believe in such superstition and I never will, I believe in something else entirely. -

Indeed. They have been handling BS so long, that as far as metaphysicists go, they are indeed artists at their craft. Chaos folk, Wiccans, Thelemites, Satanists and new agers are far inferior at handling the BS.
What I'm working at, is to develop half the skill in BS that the average RC ritualist possesses, and to develop some form of new religion from it, that is more useful (but equally as BS as everything else) to the age in which we now live.
Magic is the art and science of BS.

Mon, September 1, 2008 - 10:01 AM>>>To insist they are demons just puts some ill-feeling onto that arrangement.<<<
So, what ya got against demons, Charley? I have never had any problem with demons; they are generally rather simple spirits, eager to be of help whenever you let them and they've always treated me well. Are you falling into the Christianoid error of confusing demons with devils. Two entirely different species.
Okay, I'm done with the joshing. Please permit me to inflict a poem I once wrote on the subject. it's entirely voluntary, of course; if you prefer to skip it, there's no compulsion.
TANIT,
. . .my dusky succubus,
perches the bedflank
in the interval of lusts,
Folding leather-rustling wings to shroud
the chill peril of her naked loins,
she smoothes her hair around small horns
that ape the crescent moon
and leans above me,
eyes lambent with nostalgic chatoyance
relating wistful anecdotes:
Of prideful thrones in Khem,
Shemitic coastal towns,
Shinaric city-states;
Of incensed temples on Aegean isles
where quaking throngs
adored her whimsy's praise;
Of mortal jests that japed at men and gods,
until at last she mocked
one god too many. . .
She sighs,
shrugs,
stubs out her cigarette
Resuming her profession
of thanatotic love..
**************************
And that's Tanit. She's my favorite imaginary girlfriend. Maybe if I work hard enough at it, someday she won't be imaginary anymore. I know succubae are rumored to be dangerous, but as I created her, I believe I have poetic immunity. I offer no guarantees for others though. If you run into her in a dream one night, be careful. I imagined her as very faithful to her lovers (or victims). <G>

Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 2:36 AMhilariously, i just concluded that my cat has been functioning as a succubus for quite some time...
"cat's will steal your breath"
is a folk-truism...i did not comprehend this until i noticed that my cat (who has been banished to the outdoors)
keeps slipping in through the window, curling up with me
getting all passionate
and then keeping me from sleeping all night. (with her clawing, bathing, etc....we don't actually fuck)
she also is intently focused on my face while i sleep.
i have had dreams, while she is there, of various naked women being next to me
(instead of my usual dreams of delicious swarthy men)
and in one of these dreams, the energetic connection was so strong that i stopped it in order to invite a "third party"
into the scene...which took the form of a spiraling column of light.
to me, this relationship contains all of the ambiguity of the succubus-complex...
distrust of the other....enjoyment followed by worry....a feeling of loosing energy through sharing of one's self...
i think that the dream where i invited the light-column into the equation is the key to this...
aligning with the Source as an antenna instead of seeing one's self as a finite battery with limited charge. -

Fri, November 14, 2008 - 10:43 AMI play with Succubus Energy frequently
it fills me with dark joy
actually they are generally considered Daemons
though I consider them also a type of Faerie Pixie and dark angel
they like to bite, drink blood, and be an exhibitionist
I feel their energy is general is quite pleasing and sexual
they also are attracted to shadows and necrotic behaviour

Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Thu, December 11, 2008 - 7:15 PMDaemons & Angels in my opinion transcend, are not limited to, human conceptions of gender. We create them in *our* image/s. Generally Incubi are male entities, and Succubi are female entities. Derivations of Succubi and Incubi are found in many cultures under different names. -
-
Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Sat, December 13, 2008 - 5:29 PMthe term "Incubus"
means one who lies on top of and is related to "incubate"
The term "succubus"
means one who lies under and is related to "succumb"
Lillith is thought by some to be Queen of the Succubi
and yet it is also believed that her "sin" or objection to the theocratic order
was that she did not want to lie under Adam...
thus although female (in the sense that a goddess/demon can be)
she was an Incubus in function of the word....
like Kali astride Shiva, Nuit astride Geb, Babalon astride the Beast.
the role of over/under male/female creates confusion in theocratic, binary obsessed human dogma
but in the realm of the forces themselves, there is play.

Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Sat, December 27, 2008 - 1:35 PMstandard attribution, yes.
we are, however, exploring the set of assumptions corresponding to these gender roles,
because these entities or sexual projections relate to the world of deep-seated desires, repressed energies and dreams which are heavily influenced by all that is expressed or not-expressed in the sexual/phantasmal conditioning of the cultures from which they originate.
(cut to: image of Shub Nigguroth as a protean, omnisexual amoeba lurking behind every internet connection, feeding off of the millions of solitary orgasms wanked onto the keyboards of the world each day...extruding female, male, or puppy genitalia at will, and sending out spam-solicitations in Aklo) -

Thu, January 1, 2009 - 4:09 AMWTF that was kinduh funny

Re: Categorizing Incubi & Succubi
Sat, October 10, 2009 - 8:42 PMIt used to puzzle me that succubi had male endings in Latin, but the riddle was solved when I noticed the old Catholic teaching that all demons are male in essence, but could assume female form when it suited their purpose. It makes no sense to me to refer to a succub-(us), since the (-us) is the Latin ending for the singular male gender, while succubi with an (-i) is the male plural. I now prefer to use the female endings when referring to the succuba singular or to the succubae in the plural. It's time for the ladies in the demonic world to be given their due recognition.
